Mya
What is a “personal table”?
The Mya is a lot of things to a lot of people.
It is an individual beverage holder when a coffee table is not
accessible. It is a pedestal for sculpture, vases or other pieces
of art. It is a plant stand or speaker stand or the catch all
table for mail or keys.
How do I decide what height table I need?
If your Mya is for beverages, take a coffee mug
and sit down in the seat the Mya might be near. Hold the mug at
a height that you feel would be comfortable for that seat and measure
from the bottom of the cup to the floor. For plant stand and museum
pedestals, measure from the floor to the height you would like the
focal piece to be displayed.
How soon will my order ship after I place it?
J-Series: Two business days
L-Series: Two business days
I-Series: Ten business days
Can I have a table with a custom height?
We can easily modify both the “I”
and “L” series tables to accommodate almost any height
up to 48” without risking instability. These changes would
require custom pricing, which we would be happy to provide. The
J-Series Mya tables cannot be customized except in quantities
over 25 units. If you have a special design in mind that you don’t
see on our website or in our catalog, we can custom build a table
to your liking. Call our Customer Service department for more information.
What is the body of the table made of?
We build each table from steel tubing and zinc
connectors. We finish it with an exterior grade powder coat, which
is water & weather resistant.
What about tabletops?
Are different types of wood and finish available?
What about glass or different acrylic tops?
We finish all of our standard wood tops with a
gloss polyurethane coating. We are happy to provide custom wood
species and finishes. The exotic wood tops are finished with a teak
oil that includes UV inhibitors to help protect the top against
advanced fading and weathering.
We are also happy to custom order other acrylics and glass tabletops.
The Mya is your personal table and we want you to make it your own.
Custom orders do require additional charges and processing time.
Please call us for additional information.
What types of tiles are available?
We stock three tiles from Italy: Terra Cotta,
Rialto Beige and Rialto Green.
What is the thickness of the tabletops?
The J-Series, L-Series and I-Series
wood top is 5 3/4” square by 3/4” thick with 1/4”
exposed. Tile tops are 7/8" thick with 3/8" exposed. The acrylic
is 1/4” thick.
What is the size of the tabletop?
The J, I and L-Series Tables use a 5 3/4" square top.
- Wood Tops
are 3/4" thick with 1/4" exposed.
- Tile tops are 3/8" thick with
1/2" blocks attached for secure fit.
- Acrylic tops are 1/4"
thick with 4 clear pads attached.
I have my own top that I would like to use.
Is that an option?
Yes. The shopping cart offers a "Without Top" option which with
reduced price. For secure fit a base 4 9/16" square and 1/2" thick
should be attached to the underside of your top. Clips are also
recommended.
If you would like to provide your own top, and have
us fit it to a Mya, please call our customer service team.
What type of finish for the table (not top) is available and is
it weather resistant? Are other options available?
The Mya is available in either matte black or
gloss silver powder coat. We coat each table with an exterior grade
powder coating to protect it from fading and rusting, making it
weather resistant. However, we do recommend that you bring your
Mya indoors when not in use.
We are happy to provide custom frame colors. Like all custom work,
custom colors are subject to additional charges and production time.
Can the tables be ordered without the powder coating? Can I spray
paint it?
We recommend ordering a special custom powder
coat table if a specific color is needed. The exterior-rated coating
is “cured” onto the steel and is designed to last
a lifetime. Spray painting with an outdoor product can achieve
a similar look but the application can leave the finish uneven
and will not be guaranteed by the manufacturer. We do have a
limited supply of tables that have not been coated. The price
would be the same as a coated table. Please contact Customer
Service for more information.
How are the tops held into place?
Each wood and tile tabletop on the J, I and L-Series tables features
small turn buttons to hold them into the frame. Acrylic tops are
prevented from side horizontal motion by 4 clear "bumpers" attached
to the top. Acrylic tops are not secured against vertical movement
and are not attached.
Are any accessories available?
Yes. Small round glass shelves are available as
a lower shelf for the J - Series Mya tables. Ash urns are also
available for the J-Series, L-Series and I-Series tables. Any
of the wood, tile or acrylic tops for the J-Series, L-Series
and I-Series tables are also interchangeable.
How much weight will the tables withstand?
The tables will hold up to 40 pounds of weight.
Just right for a small sculpture, a potted plant, or a medium-sized
stereo speaker, not to mention a coffee cup.
How stable is the Mya?
Based upon placement the Mya is very stable.
The J-Series would be most recommended for thick or “shag”
carpeting.
Are any discounts available for large quantities?
Yes, for orders of 25 units or more, we do have
a discount program. Please call for more information.
